Mr. Penner practices with the law firm of Ahlstrom Wright Oliver & Cooper LLP in Sherwood Park, Alberta and in Yellowknife, Northwest Territories. His work is focused in the Corporate/Commercial area and he is the former Secretary of the International Business Law Section of the Canadian Bar Association in Edmonton. Some of his clients are presently operating in both the US and in China. In addition, Mr. Penner has extensive experience advising clients in the areas of Wills and Estates, Business Succession Planning and Real Estate Transactions.
Lorne Penner came to Ahlstrom Wright Oliver & Cooper LLP. after gaining significant business experience launching and operating his own construction and agricultural ventures. Consequently, he is able to understand his client’s needs from a very practical and experienced point of view. Mr. Penner has significant volunteer and Board experience and presently acts as General Counsel to several Charitable Organizations.
Born in Three Hills, Alberta, Mr. Penner graduated in Law from the University of Alberta in 1999. He is experienced counsel in the areas of Regulatory, Business and Property Law. Lorne has been involved in a number of large scale mergers, acquisitions and international business transactions. He has an active leadership role in several community and professional activities. Lorne is a member of the Canadian Bar Association, as well as the Law Societies of Alberta and the Northwest Territories.
